Our Client is looking for an otolaryngologist to be responsible for treating conditions of the ear, throat, and nose. The responsibilities of an otolaryngologist include treating conditions, examining affected organs, and performing tests to determine the degree of hearing loss, speech loss, or injuries to the larynx.

To be successful you should demonstrate an ability to work under stressful conditions, be compassionate, and work well within a team. Ultimately, a top applicant will have good listening skills, a keen eye for detail, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure implementation of Ministry of Health regulations, the Hospital Medical staff by laws, Rules and Regulation and the ENT Department Policy and Guidelines.
  • Deal with patients suffering from chronic sinusitis.
  • Treat diseases of the larynx, oesophagus, and upper aero digestive tract, including swallowing and voice disorders.
  • Medical specialists treating problems in the head and neck regions deal with tumours, infectious diseases, deformities and facial trauma.
  • Examine the affected organs with the use of equipment such as xray machines, fluoroscopes, microscopes, nasoscopes, prisms, and audiometers.
  • Diagnosis and treatment of patients referred to ENT department.
  • Run his or her own clinic.
  • Provide supervision to the department.
  • Help in professional development of all staff.
  • Ensure safety of patients and staff.
  • Provide teaching materials as part of the professional development of the staff.
  • Set up a coordinated management system for the department.
  • Lead the resuscitation process during CODE BLUE ENT cases while on call.
  • Set up with cooperation from the Head Nurse, a triage system that suits the local community without jeopardising the private nature of the service.
  • Responsible for directing, planning, managing, and coordinating operations for the ENT activities.
  • Responsible for maintaining a working environment that promotes high standards for patient care, customer service, and ethical behaviour.
  • Participates regularly with other ENT staff, in decision making related to patient care.
  • Provide leadership for organisational performance improvement activities.
  • Plan for the provision of orientation, in service and continuing education programs, along with other consultants of the department.
  • Participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care needs.

Requirements
  • Candidates must have current medical license to practice.
  • Western training: American Board/ UK CCT/ Australia or NZ Royal College Fellowship/ Western European Specialization Board.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years' post board or specialization certification experience depending on country of origin to qualify for Consultant with the Saudi Council.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
