Carter Wellington are actively recruiting for a Consultant General Ophthalmologist for our client based in the East of Saudi Arabia
The hospital is located in the northern area of Dhahran city in the Eastern Province, KSA. The hospital and the housing compound are located near nice malls such as Dhahran Mall, Rashid Mall, Al Khobar Mall, and lots more. The beach side is just 20 minutes drive and there is a 25 KM causeway connecting Saudi Arabia to Bahrain just 35 minutes drive.
It is a 350 bed military facility. With nearly 3,000 staff, this JCI accredited tertiary facility provides the full spectrum of health services.
Minimum Requirements
- Candidates must have current medical license to practice.
- Graduate of Medical School, recognised by the Medical Council of the country of origin.
- Must have one or more of the following:
– American Board – Minimum 3 years*
– Canadian Board – Minimum 3 years*
– UK CCT – Minimum 3 years*
– CESR – Minimum 5 years*
– Australia or NZ Royal College Fellowship – Minimum 3 years*
– Western European Specialisation Board (i.e., Fachartz) – Minimum 5 years*
- Bilingual (English and Arabic) is an advantage.
- Paediatric ophthalmology with Glaucoma experience.
(*Experience: 3 to 5 years’ post board or specialisation certification experience depending on country of origin to qualify for Consultant with the Saudi Council.)

Important Information
- Working hours are 48 per week over 5 days.
- Weekends in Saudi Arabia are Friday and Saturday.
