About the job Core Engineer

Our client is an ecosystem of decentralised products servicing DAOs. Blockchains have given them new mechanisms to coordinate people and capital at a global scale. The company is building the infrastructure to support the experimentation and growth of these new communities. Their first product enables a novel form of protocol owned liquidity for DAOs, establishing a sustainable financial foundation on which they can build and grow. They ran a private beta in the fall of 2021 with leading DAOs including Terra, Fantom, and Injective, capped at $50 million in deposits, that demonstrated the power and utility of our first product.

About the Role

Their smart contract team is developing novel DeFi primitives to serve as foundational financial infrastructure. They are looking for an experienced engineer to fill the role of core engineer.

Responsibilities:

      • Work closely with the CTO to design the specification, high level architecture, and future roadmap for the Rift Protocol.
      • Lead development of the Rift Protocol on EVM based blockchains, managing the full software development life cycle.
      • Contribute to open source projects that they use and that benefit the DeFi ecosystem.
      • Execute code reviews for other engineers on the team.
      • Lead the vision for and help build out their smart contracts team.
      • Implement core protocol functionality in Solidity.
      • Write thorough test coverage of all smart contract functionality.
      • Create deployment scripts and integrations for cross-chain deployments of the protocol.
      • Constantly research the frontier of smart contracts, and think critically about how the company Protocol may be able to integrate the latest innovations across the crypto ecosystem.

      Requirements

            • 4-7 years of experience in a backend software engineering role.
            • Experience with systems engineering and optimisation, and interacting with virtual machines at the opcode level.
            • Extensive experience managing the software development life cycle for medium to large projects
            • Contributions to open source projects
