About the job Pulmonology Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Pulmonologist - Consultant who will be responsible for managing the respiratory health of our patients. This role involves diagnosing and treating a range of conditions, including breathing disorders, severe allergies, and various lung diseases. The ideal candidate will be proficient in evaluating patient symptoms and recommending effective treatment plans.

Expertise in General Pulmonology or Sleep Medicine is required.

We have opportunities available for both Adult and Pediatric Consultant Pulmonologists.

Pulmonologist Responsibilities:

  • Conducting consultations to understand patients' symptoms and health concerns.
  • Diagnosing and treating respiratory conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema.
  • Utilizing and interpreting pulmonological exams and diagnostic tests, including CT scans, chest fluoroscopies, ultrasounds, and bronchoscopies, to identify cardiopulmonary diseases and conditions.
  • Performing specialized procedures to obtain lung or chest wall lining samples for further analysis.
  • Administering immunizations to prevent cardiopulmonary diseases.
  • Keeping detailed records of patient appointments, including symptoms, tests, treatments prescribed, and test results.
  • Referring patients to cardiothoracic surgeons when necessary.
  • Collaborating with cardiothoracic surgeons to assess patient risk and recommend interventions, particularly in cases of tuberculosis.
  • Offering guidance and support to patients undergoing long-term care.


To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Experience from one of the following: US (Board Certification), Canada (Royal College Fellowship), UK (CCT), Ireland (CSD, CSCST), Australia & New Zealand (Fellowship), France (DES, DESC), or other European countries as per the SCFHS qualification equivalence tables.
  • A minimum of 3 years of post-specialty experience in a hospital setting in Western Europe, Central America, South Africa, or Australasia.
  • Expertise in General Pulmonology or Sleep Medicine.
  • Opportunities available for both adult and pediatric specialties.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
